2023 SST Pi Week Results

Dear students, We celebrated 2023 SST Pi Week from 21 Feb - 24 Feb last week. Students and staff took part actively, with as as many as 600 responses per day for our Math Challenges. Here are the results. Thank you to our Math reps for coming up with the questions and SST staff and community for actively taking part in our event.

Australian Mathematics Competition 2023

You are invited to take part in the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) 2023. The AMC is an engaging 30-problem competition that demonstrates the importance and relevance of mathematics in students' everyday lives. More information regarding the competition can be found HERE . You may wish to view some resources and past papers HERE . Details Date of competition: 2 August 2023 (Wednesday) Time/Venue: TBC Cost: AUD8 (S$7.14) (collected through Edusave) If you do not have sufficient Edusave funds, it will be collected through GIRO. All S1-S4 students are eligible to sign up. Training There will be 6 compulsory online training lessons for students to complete before going to the competition (which can be taken any time before the competition). If you are keen to sign up, kindly do so HERE . Singapore Mathematical Society (SMS) Essay Competition 2022 - Extension of deadline

Dear students, After receiving feedback about the timeline for submissions for the Singapore Mathematical Society (SMS) Essay Competition 2022, we have extended the deadline till 20 June 2022 . The objective of the competition is to expose students to topics related to Math and encourag e articulation of Math through the exposition on these topics. The theme for this year is “ Mathematics and Environmental Sustainability ”. More details on the competition can be found HERE . You may sign up for the competition as an individual or as a team of no more than 3 members from the same level (lower secondary/ upper secondary). If you are interested in signing up for the competition, please submit your essay via this Google form . The extended deadline for this form submission is 20 June 2022 (Monday), 5 p.m. A panel of teachers will decide whether your essay is suitable for submission to the organisers.
